dani oblitas

dance artist, performer, improviser, choreographer, educator

My artistic practice is rooted in contemporary forms of dance and improvisation centering sovereignty, environment, and justice. I am passionate about making movement accessible to all, and view dance as a life affirming act of community cultivation and individual embodiment. I am interested in improvisation as movement and as performance. How can we be informed by our spirit rather than our technical training? I dance for myself and with my ancestors. My improvisational spirit is powerful.
