Shortened version made for ODC Theater FACT/SF Summer Dance Festival in San Francisco, California

Un/Rerooted is a meditative performance rooted in herbal plantitas to guide our spirit and identity from a place of disconnection to our ancestors and homeland– an exploration of borders, community, and connection with our ancestral land and roots. How can we reconnect with ourselves, our identity, and our spirit to rebuild cultural connections and community? What was lost (individually and collectively) and how do we find it again? What rememberings do we hold within ourselves where the body becomes a site of resistance and memory? The six performers embark on a journey of isolation, ritual, gates, connection, and migration to find these answers for themselves and as a collective. Using a combination of improvisational scores, tasks, and set material for both the movement and sound artists, each performance lives in its own container– only existing within that moment in time.

echoes of the unseen

2025

echoes of the unseen explores the shifting perceptions of the outside world that unveils the complexities of the self. Drawing from themes of mythology, monsters, queerness, and the tension of perceived hostility, this work questions how our identities are shaped by the gaze of others, and how we, in turn, shape our own narratives.
